Identification: Pavement ants are about 1/16- 1/8" long and the body varies in color from light brown to black. The head and thorax are grooved with parallel lines.

Habits:  This ant’s name derives from the common practice of locating its nest in or under the cracks in the pavement. They can be a particular problem for homes built on a concrete slab (no basement or crawlspace). They will enter these homes through expansion or weight-borne cracks

Control:  The best method to control pavement ants is to treat the soil below the crack they are entering the structure through directly. Monroe Pest Control Inc. specializes in riding these insects from your home or business. We offer free estimates and a full warranty upon completion of services!
