Identification: An adult Oriental cockroach is 1 - 1 1/4" in length. They are a very dark reddish-brown to a shiny black color.
Habits: The Oriental cockroach is often referred to as a "water bug". They prefer dark, damp areas such as drains, basements, crawl spaces, woodpiles, garbage cans, etc. They feed on all kinds of food and decaying organic materials.
Control: Treating the interior of the structure paying particular attention to damp crawl spaces and basements with the appropriately labeled liquid insecticide.
