Identification: Millipedes are generally 2" or less in length and have a cylindrical worm-like appearance. They range in color from dark brown to black.

Habits: Millipedes have high moisture needs. They are usually found under thick mulch beds feeding on decaying organic materials. Millipedes will migrate in large numbers due if their harborage areas becoming too wet or dry. During these migrations, millipedes will invade structures but once inside they will die due to lack of moisture.
