Identification: Earwigs are elongated and flattened insects ranging in color from light brown to black. Adult earwigs are 1/2 - 3/4" long but are easily identified by the "pinchers" at the end of their bodies.
Habits: Earwigs require moist, cool places and are found in mulch, flowerbeds, under boards and woodpiles. Inside they are found in basements, crawl spaces and the cooler sections of the home. Once in the home they will feed on sweet, oily or greasy foods and plants.
Control: Exterior treatments with residual materials, concentrating on the foundation level in the spring and fall of the year are the most effective means of control. Monroe Pest Control Co., Inc. will eliminate your earwig infestation in one visit and we warranty our work.
