Identification: Pavement ants are about 1/16- 1/8" long and the body varies in color from light brown to black. The head and thorax are grooved with parallel lines.

Habits: The Pavement ant gets its name from the common practice of locating its nest in or under the cracks in the pavement. They can be a particular problem for homes with slab on grade construction. They will enter these homes through cracks in the slabs.

Control: The best method to control pavement ants is to treat the crack they are entering the structure through, with an appropriately labeled residual pesticide. Monroe Pest Control Co., Inc. can rid your structure of these ants with a combination of residual sprays and/or baits and we warranty our work.
