Identification: Field ants are 1/8-3/8" in length. Their color is brown, black, reddish or any combination of these colors.
Habits: Field ants generally build their nest in the yard making small mounds. When infestations are heavy the ants will enter a structure in search of a food source.
Control: The best method of control is a broadcast treatment of the yard with a correctly labeled insecticide.
